Glossybox February 2012

I was a bit nervous about this month's glossybox as I am usually one of the last to receive my box and so many people had been going a bit mad about the varying contents. The bright pink box for valentine's day is just gorgeous, I love it, it would be great to see more colours in the boxes in future. I was especially disappointed that we didn't get the red box here at Christmas like the UK Glossies did.

February's Items:

Bobbi Brown- Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara- $48 (6ml)- Sample size $24 (3ml)

I was very glad to see this product in my box, I love trying out new mascara's and this brand has a great rep.

Jane Irdale- Tantasia Self Tanner- $54 (124ml)- Sample size- $3.05 (7ml)

I have never heard of this brand before but I am a self-tanning fan so it will be good to try this out.

Proactive- Deep Cleansing Wash- $39.95(450ml)- Sample size- $5.05 (60ml)

If you have never heard of Proactive then you must live under a rock! I have always wanted to try out their products but I am weary of over selling tv commercials and heavily endorsed celebrity products. I am really looking forward to trying this out as I do suffer from breakouts.

Polished London- Nail Enamel in Fuschia- $7.99 (10ml)

I havn't heard of this brand but I do love getting nail polishes in beauty boxes, this is also a shade that I do not have anything like, score!

Star and Rose- Floral Wonderland Emergency Nail Files- $2 (12 files)

A very cute and handy item to have in your handbag.

I am definitely pleased with the glossybox I received. There were a lot of other good products floating around for February's Box which I am really not sure is a good idea. I understand that it may be difficult in sourcing a certain amount of samples and ones which are appropriate to all subscribers but it really has caused some not so nice backlash for the beauty box brands. This month's total box value sits at just over $42 which is great.

Whilst I love receiving these boxes full of goodies in the post each month, I am subscribed to four so that adds up to $60 a month. I do end up with a lot of products on the back log for use but I also do discover some really nice items and brands and get to use products that I wouldn't usually buy or be able to splash out on. While I would like to cut down to maybe two boxes a month I am having an incredibly hard time deciding on which ones to let go off.... and so the saga continues!

    1. Yeh I think it was a good box for sure, it can get pricey but I don't seem to be buying as many cosmetics or beauty products as I would otherwise!

  2. I think these boxes are a great idea. I actually like that they're sample sizes because it means I would actually be able to use them up in a reasonable time and not have them sit around for ages. I'm supposed to receive my first box this month so I'm excited :D.

    1. Ps. I didn't know a mascara could cost so much!! $48 is a bit ridiculous, I would be curious as to what exactly it does and if it's worth the extreme splurge.

    2. I know I do think that is a crazy price for a mascara so it was a great sample to get! Hope you enjoy your box!
